A night at the drive in. 4:27AM
Yesterday we went to this drive in movie with my sister, brother in law and myself. Pity drive in movies are really a thing of the past because it was pretty darn cool. We saw two movies Insomnia and the Sum of All Fears for $5, which is very cheap in itself. The movie couldn't start until it was dark but the place was already full with people having picnics out of their cars, lounging around on deck chairs and throwing around frisbees and footballs.
To hear the movie soundtrack you tune your car radio into a station they provide, which means you get good sound, that you can control. The rows you park your car up on are raised at the front of the car, which tips the car back slightly so its easy to see the screen from the backseat through the windscreen, and its pretty much impossible to have your view blocked by a car infront. In the centre of the field was a snack bar and toilet block.
Anyway awesome fun, the entire place looked like it was straight out of the 50s, and there was some cool etiquette associated with it. Such as not putting your foot on the brake pedal and blinding everybody behind you with your brakelights.
They were promoting next weekends movie night, where they have movies running dusk till dawn! Probably a bit much, after several hours, even with a break between movie i was pretty happy to get out of the car.
Night before we headed out to a local bar. I was amazed by the local prices, which were enourmously cheaper than Winter Park, but not so impressed with the local music.
Cool bit of graffiti in the the toilets, which were plastered with good quotes.
Feeling depressed? Buy something.
